06.19.06: New Project: The new issue of Noname Magazine is out. EXIT, issue #8 is a collection of art, photography, writing and music. I have several pieces in this issue. check it out

06.08.06: New work added to the illustration section. Check it out

06.05.06: New project: it's been a while since my last update but here is some fresh product. Recently created image for Senior Market Advisor for an article about advisory boards. Kind of like focus groups but using existing clients as a sounding board. The art director used the talk balloon for the title. A.D.: Megan Roy.

05.21.06: Made some updates to the illustration section with some old favorites. These pieces are collage, paint and drawing. They have a bit of a different character than the digital collages. Look for more like these soon.

05.15.06: New project: flavorpill.net invited me to contribute art for use on their on-line cultural magazine. Here are the results.

05.08.06: New project for Benefits Selling Magazine. Art for an article on selling disability benefits. Working with the Art Director, we chose a symbolic approach for this rather abstract subject. These benefits are largely overlooked so they are undersold or "untapped". I used energy/growth related subjects to show that idea. Full page and a spot illustration.

05.03.06: Todays sketch-as-sketch-can:

05.01.06: Happy 1st of May. Here a shot of art for ye.

04.24.06: Here is a bunch of images. A mixed bag of sketchbook fodder and a Holga photo. Enjoy.

04.19.06: News Flash! Just found out that the 2005 Rhythm & Rawhide Invite that I designed for EVP has won a regional silver Addy award. This after having won a district silver Addy. On to the national level. see it
Daily dose:

04.18.06: OK, so I fell off my schedule. So here's a 2-fer. Thanks Omar for reminding me that someone is actually looking at my site. Here's the love: A project that I just completed for Voyaging Magazine. Art was for an article about boating safety.

And, here's one from the sketchbook:

04.14.06: Here's your daily dose:

04.13.06: Here is a recent piece that I created for Corporate Board Member Magazine. The article was about the increase in insurance companies going under. Glug, glug. This was part of a larger series done for the magazine.

More drawings from the sketchbook:

Movie: Papillon, 1973, Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Great movie. Based on true story.
Music: Listening to quite a bit of jazz lately. I like alot of the stuff from the 50's and 60's. Coltrane, Monk, Miles, Horace Silver is a big favorite.

04.10.06: Went away for the weekend. Still catching up. Here's a drawing and a Holga photograph.
Holgas are great. Changed the way I shoot photos. I did all the usual mods to the Holga: painted the inside, adapted the lens to shoot closer, drilled larger and smaller aperture openings and taped it all closed with gaffer tape. Gotta start shooting with it more. I find the limitations of the camera to actually give more freedom while shooting. Blurry is beautiful.

04.05.06: Todays entry was done in the Dallas Airport waiting, waiting, waiting...

04.04.06: More art. This baby was done in a car on the way to Newport, RI.

04.03.06: Welcome to Daylight Savings time. Making up for the last 2 days plus today, here are 3 more drawings. The first done in a coffee shop and the other 2 from traveling. Enjoy.

2 movies to avoid, which I didn't: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "Four Rooms". The former: I liked the book but you know how it goes with movie adaptations. Even with Johnny Depp it didn't entertain. The latter: just boring.

03.31.06: Here's the latest installment of; "A-Drawing-A-Day". Done in a Starbucks. Oh, my unsuspecting subjects.

03.30.06: Starting something new-I'll post A-DRAWING-A-DAY here in the news section. I have a back-log in the sketchbook so I'll be OK for awhile but I do want to do at least one a day. I've wanted to do this for a while so here goes...
click the image to see larger. This was done on a flight to Boston.

Gloriousness; Airport Express Tip. For those of you who use an Airport Express to broadcast your music in your home or office here's a tip I just found. You can now send music to multiple sets of speakers. Go here and get the latest firmware for the Airport Express. After you download and install the firmware update, your AE will reboot. In the speaker select in the lower right of iTunes you will now have option to send music to all the speakers you have hooked up to your network-at once. Very cool. Impoves my life by 50%.

03.28.06: Get thee to the Alternative Pick, forthwith. They are having their annual awards. Illustration, design and photography of the freshest variety are up for review. Fix your critical eye on the work and cast your vote.
OK, here is my new favorite group: the octopus project. To describe them here is a quote from their web site via a site in Greece: "Their music is not distant and colourless, but heat enriched with 32-roasts colours...". Check 'em out. Thanks for the tip Omar.
Movies: just viewed "Bandits". Good flick. Didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Also saw: "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit". Great movie! I'm a big fan of Nick Park's work.
Books: Just finished up "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides. Great book. How does a hermaphrodite fit in? Read and find out. Now I'm reading "The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-First Century" by Thomas Friedman. Eye-opening stuff so far. Will comment when I finish.

03.22.06: Working on a really exciting new project. Can't let the cat out of the bag just yet but look for an update soon.
Music: Listening to Medeski, Martin and Wood. Groovin'.

03.16.06: A New Site for 2006! A bunch of new work up on the site. Check it out in the illustration section. I will be updating periodically so check back often.
