Sketches Collage

Some head sketches from the sketchbook. I do these as an exercise and try to keep them quick and loose. I usually draw from an online image or freeze a documentary or movie. Although I know that drawing from life is much better-models are not always hanging around.
I have always liked drawing faces and in part I think it’s because when young, people called you artistic if you could catch a likeness. It seemed to be a dividing line between those that were serious about improving their drawing skills and those that weren’t.
Now they are just really good subject matter and a good test of skill. I’m always looking to improve my skills.
Fun to do.

DIY Patio Chaise Lounge

What do you do with an old door, some scrap wood and a Sunday afternoon? Make a chaise lounge chair for my better half.
The only new items were the cushion($30) and the casters($20). Now I have to make one for me.

T-shirt Designs for Jolly B 13

So I’m in this show, Jolly B 13 at Illiterate Gallery in Denver that starts May 6th. The gallery is going to produce limited edition t-shirts to be for sale at the gallery. All the artists in the show were asked to submit designs. The only parameter was that the word, “Illiterate” needed to be included somewhere in the design. Here are mine. We’ll see what they pick.
