I recently went to the Nevada Museum of Art to see the Fernando Botero exhibit. I enjoyed the exhibit and noticed that on the description of one of the pieces, Botero’s, “Pear” he is quoted as saying, and I’m paraphrasing here that if he or any artist were to paint an orange that the viewer should recognize that piece as say, Botero’s orange or Picasso’s orange and not just a depiction of an orange. The orange being a simple, one-colored object. This was his, “orange test”. Here one could view the style of the master.
Thought I’d give it a shot. Here’s my orange test. Whaddaya think?
